About Me

I’m Laura Burke, and I’ve spent my career pushing back on what education is supposed to look like.

Over the years, I’ve been a teacher, principal, district leader, and founder of Colorado’s first K–8 entrepreneurial magnet school. I care deeply about helping kids feel seen, heard, and empowered—and I believe entrepreneurial mindsets aren’t just for business; they’re life skills every student deserves to learn.

Currently, I’m serving as the Chief of Innovative Systems & Empowerment at VALE - Venture Academy of Leadership and Entrepreneurship, a high school in Colorado doing big things with real-world learning, student voice, and bringing student passion & purpose together.

Outside of school, I speak, consult, write, and host a podcast—all focused on reimagining what’s possible in education. I am also a signed model with the Wilhelmina Denver modeling agency —something completely outside my comfort zone, but deeply aligned with my belief in taking risks, challenging expectations, and showing up fully as yourself.

At home, I'm a mom to three amazing kids, ranging in age from middle school to adulthood, so I see the work I do through the lens of a parent too. 

I genuinely believe that if we want to change the world, we start by changing how we show up for kids.
